A native New Yorker, I was born in Manhattan’s lower east side and raised in the South Bronx. I was introduced to gardening, farming, environmentalism, sustainability and the basics of healthy eating while spending summers in Massachusetts as a teenager. With an MBA in Business and having been a successful serial entrepreneur, the thought of owning a restaurant never crossed my mind until I relocated to Baltimore and met Greg. I am the co-creator of Vegan Soulfest and Maryland Vegan Restaurant Week. I am the Executive Director of the Black Vegetarian Society of Maryland. Hi, I’m interested in the KUSH name, recently ran across it and found a location in central Africa. Do you have any connectiion to that location. Don’t mean to be nosy, just curious. Thanks

Thanks for reaching out. Yes, the name of the restaurant derived from the Kindom of Kush in central Africa. We interviewed a historian about it. You can check it out here: https://youtu.be/wT7NqOIKlQ4
This is the worst food I have bought.
$36.00 for two platters
I bought a crab cake platter and is still waiting to taste the crabmeat. Another black establishment with false advertisement.I would not recommend this nasty tasting food to nobody. I will never patronize this business again.

So me and my mom came to Baltimore from jersey for the vegan festival and couldn’t get any land of kush because they ran out of food. So we looked up the restaurant and they were 10 min away. We went ordered and waited. First thing I will say is it seemed like everybody had the same idea and drove to the restaurant. Packed with orders and also running out of food the staff handled themselves like true professionals!!! Running back and forth making sure people got what they needed all while being understaffed. My food came out good mom was happy black folk waited without complaining lol It was all love in there. I think it was only 3 staff members 2 females and a guy. And from I seen they did their thing. Much love from jersey!!
Our apologies for the delay in responding. Thank you for this great feedback. We continue to be understaffed til this day. Taking one day at a time. Blessings.
